Pig Roast Party 101
Are you looking for an exciting, out-of-the-box party idea? Why not a pig roast? “Because pig roasts are a ton of work,” you’re probably saying. But that doesn’t have to be true! With Broadway Tent & Event’s towable pig roaster and these simple tips from the National Pork Board, you can host a pig roast party to remember!
Do Your Research
Not sure where to start? We have step-by-step pig roast guides on our website, with specific details on purchasing, prepping and cooking the pig.
Prep Ahead and Keep It Simple
Do as much of the work ahead of time as possible to make the day-of go smoothly. And don’t make it harder on yourself: choose simple recipes, and don’t be afraid to ask for help! Enlist guests’ help to slice and serve meat, prepare side dishes or drinks, or simply keep you company as you roast. Which leads us to…
Don’t Rush the Roast
You’ll get the best results if you roast the pig long and slow. Keep the temperature low and plan on roasting for at least four hours, if not all day.
Serve Buffet Style
Lay out the roasted pork with a variety of sauces and sides, allowing guests to customize their own plates. This will mean less work for you and a better experience for those in attendance.
Experiment
Try an interesting brine or dry rub, or serve unique dipping sauces. This is a great time to explore traditions from different regions or heritages.
Invite Everyone
A whole roasted pig serves a LOT of people. Why not invite the whole neighborhood?
